Terrance Ryerson Neal served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy, studied computer programming at Clark College in Indianapolis, vocal music at Butler University, and Liberal Arts and Journalism at Indiana University. He is a certified Microsoft Systems Engineer and Trainer. He worked for international publishers, including Bantam, Doubleday, Dell (now Penguin-Random House) and Cliffs Notes. As an editor with Sams Publishing, he brought several major titles to market and in 1998, wrote and co-wrote a series of books on Microsoft products with McGraw-Hill, as well as a Dummies book.
In 2013, he developed an interest in the 1966 Hendersonville Triple Murders. After deciding to pursue further research into the crime, it quickly became obvious to him that the same genealogical skills he had used to find a Mayflower ancestor could be applied to researching the murders, and perhaps find new evidence that could solve the cold case.
Just as with genealogy, he quickly discovered that an open mind must be equally applied with research. Only then can one deal with the surprises that are ultimately exposed: the secrets of a family tree, and the twists of a triple murder.
For the 1966 triple murders research, he has gathered thousands of pages of documents, some never released to the public by the FBI. He interviewed hundreds of people and built over one hundred family trees to piece together the puzzle.
Join him to hear about his ten-year journey to find the truth about the murders of Vernon Shipman, Charles Glass and Louise Davis Shumate.
